    Over 350 wonderful volunteers supported and made the 2012 Special Olympics Australia III Junior National Games a great success for our young champions. Athletes aged 7-15 with an intellectual disability from across the nation competed with skill, pride, joy and friendship. Thank you to each and every volunteer and to the Newcastle – Hunter – Lake Macquarie – Central Coast community for embracing our games and supporting our charity to provide a great quality sporting competition. Together we provided a games where every athlete discovered, reached and achieved their PERSONAL BEST and focussed on ABILITY and not disability. Thank you

    On the 30th Nov 2013, over 2000 athletes will arrive in Newcastle for the inaugural Special Olympics Asia Pacific Games, over 22 countries will attend this spectacular event. Estimated attendance will be in excess of 200,000 and is forecasted to be the biggest event the City of Newcastle has every hosted. Over 4000 volunteers are required to make these games a success.
