Spirit of Sydney members Laurie and Barbara Smith have met the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at a Team GB function in London. Along with them were Lauren Jackson – Basketball, Warwick Draper Canoe Kayak Luke Jackson Lightweight. Boxing and one of our latest and young Olympian Jessica Fox Silver medallist in K1 Women’s Canoe Slalom, Craig Phillips Secretary General, Australian Olympic Committee.

Iranian athletes will compete against Israelis at the London Olympics, according to the country’s chef de mission.
Iran has been criticized in the past because some of its athletes withdrew from events against Israelis at the 2004 Athens Games and 2008 Beijing Games.
“We will be truthful to sport,” said Bahram Afsharzadeh, who is also the secretary general of the Iranian Olympic committee said.
Iran has 54 Athletes in London for the games.
The Australian Team uniform has a little surprise. The jacket lining and inner soles of the shoes have the names of every Australian Gold medalist inside. Well done to the AOC.
